I'm sitting at my desk looking busy w/ my door closed and blasting some Weezer b/c we all need a little Weezer in our lives. I think Weezer has managed to create a soundtrack for the freaks & geeks out there. All of their albums drip w/ insecurity. They are self loathing at times, pretentious at others and have an amazing way to sum up that art geek feeling of wanting more from life and from yourself but fearing rejection and failure. Songs like "In the garage" and "Across the Sea" are human and imperfect. Weezer wrote anthems for every pale faced underweight teen that just wanted to get out of the burbs, land the prom queen and join a band. Ahhh.. Weezer...
